Web Entrepreneur Meetup March 08
I went to my monthly Web Entrepreneur Meetup in April (which I was recently made the co-director) and was surprised at the lack of the number of people that showed up. We still had a good group of about 10 or so but not the number that had reserved, which is typical for most of the Meetups I have been to. There was an accident on I-4, so we think that this had something to do with it. After we went around the room and talked about who we were and why we were there, I talked about Barcamp Orlando 08 and passed out some flyers that I had gotten from Gregg Pollack while at Florida Creative’s. I also had a chance to talk about a Tech Day for Charity event I was holding coming up.
Then Mark Krupinski from Rasmussen College came in to tell us about Barcamp Orlando 08 and he also had some flyers. This was the first time I had met Mark. A great guy that was excited about Barcamp and all the various groups in town; he also expressed the idea of wanting something more.
I told the group about my idea for a Tech Association and Mark was interested. Then Gregg Pederson comes in from Nsight Development and guess what he has? Barcamp Orlando 08 flyers!
Gregg and I get into it about CSS design (them) Vs html table design (me, a good argument I like to have with people, even though I really believe in CSS design) as well as Ruby Vs Php (another one of my favorites). We also get into everything under the sun and again close the place down as I always do at these meetings.
Outside we talk about everything, so much I do not even remember.
